Villa Foscarini Rossi is a historic seventeenth-century residence located in Stra, a small locality along the Riviera del Brenta, in the province of Venice. The residence, where the Foscarini family used to spend the summer period as was customary among the Venetian nobility of the time, consists of three buildings: the Main Villa, the Guest House, and the Ancient Stables, all set in a Park of about 10,000 square meters.
Through the guided tour of the architectural complex, visitors can discover the two main products of the Riviera del Brenta: the Venetian Villa and footwear. In the over 700 m² of exhibition space in the Main Villa, there are approximately 1,350 models of luxury women's footwear, produced by the Rossimoda footwear factory in collaboration with the most prestigious fashion houses in the international landscape, over the more than seventy years of activity. Opened in 1993, the Museum aims to testify to the knowledge of the territory, spread awareness of the footwear tradition of the Riviera del Brenta, and document the evolution of costume and fashion in the second half of the twentieth century through the accessory “Footwear.”
Visitors, intoxicated by the harmony, creativity, and craftsmanship that characterize the "Made in Italy" product, will also find these values in the historic architectural structures and the perspective games of the wonderful seventeenth-century frescoes in the Ballroom of the Guest House, created by Domenico de’ Bruni and Pietro Liberi, where the visit will conclude.
